Daniel Neman of the Richmond Times Dispatch recently took a stroll down Memory Lane by reading his old high school yearbook.  He was kind enough to write about it.

Everyone I got to write in my yearbook said essentially the same thing: "I don't know you very well, and I can't imagine why you want me to write something in your yearbook."

Schiavo's Here Too

Today, Terry Schiavo finally died.  I hope her last years weren't agonizing for her and I am glad she's finally been allowed to die.  Her story is one that has permeated every faction of the media, so I felt it was appropriate to note that Ms. Schiavo's high school yearbook has made the news.  No autographs mentioned....

More Horrors...

A young woman's picture will not make her high school yearbook. 

Principal Sam Ward of Fleming Island High School made the initial decision to pull Kelli Davis's picture from the yearbook, saying he did so because Davis, who is openly gay, was dressed in boy's clothes.

Can you imagine?  A girl dressed in boy's clothing?  Makes me sick!

Oh, the Horror!

To all those out there who are fascinated by yearbook autographs, you will be interested to hear that at one college, autographs are a thing of the past.  The new DVD Yearbook is at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo.  Right in my home state, no less.  Travesty indeed.

Will you sign my DVD?  Will you sign my DVD cover?  It just doesn't work.

What I want...

As noted in the ad copy below, I'm looking for notable autographs in your high school yearbook.  Something like "Spanish was fun.  Have a good summer." is not what I'm looking for.  As I describe here, I plan on compiling the remarkable autographs and sharing them with the public. 

The ad copy states that you must snail mail the autograph to me.  Now, I'm a stickler for authenticity and am just arrogant enough to believe that if I have the page in my hot little hand, I'll be able to tell whether it's real.  However, if you are so inclined, you may scan a copy of the page(s) and e-mail the autograph to me.

Calling All Autographs

When was the last time you read what others wrote in your high school yearbook? Well, dig it up and take a look. Chances are there is something in there that made you laugh or cringe. Well, that’s what I’m looking for. Please send me the most outrageous, hilarious, offensive, scandalous, creepy, salty, and otherwise remarkable “autographs” you received in your high school yearbook. Send the actual page(s) (or high quality photocopy) along with an SASE (if you want it back), your name and contact information, high school, year, along with the author of the autograph’s name and address (if known) to: Yearbook Project, P.O.
